Accreditation, Certification and Registration:
Some definitions we all need to be aware of:
Accreditation: the process of ongoing assessment and recognition of a specific program of studies, at a college or other educational agency, which leads directly to the graduates’ being automatically verified as having the required minimum education for certification.
Certification: the process of ensuring that all requirements regarding education and work experience, per industry standards and verified by credible references, are met by applicants seeking registration through a professional association.
Registration: the process of becoming a fully recognized member of a Professional Association, and allowed to use the appropriate professional designation initials after your name: AScT, CTech if you apply to ASTTBC.
